Installation of EWi PRO eaves to a property being brought back into use, through a void property repair and lease scheme
Across the country there are estimated to be 700,000 empty homes that have been empty for more than six months as the need for affordable quality housing increases. There are also approximately 1.8million potential tenants on Housing Association and Local Authority waiting lists in need of a suitable home. Consequently, there has become a huge need to address the UK’s void property issue.
In this particular case the landlord of this property; Carbis Homes are working in partnership with Cynon Taf Community Housing to enable the void property to be brought back into use. The brief was to carry out void works that meet the Government’s Decent Homes standards using working methods that deliver a high level of customer satisfaction, both for the client and future tenants.
EWi PRO supplied a full gutter/verge system solution for the property, as well as bespoke deep aluminium windows cills to replicate the existing stone cills.
EWi PRO also provided a simple, comprehensive install guide, as well as a short site based tool box talk which proved invaluable to a new installer and continued to provide ongoing support to the site operatives throughout the duration of the installation.
"The EWi PRO gutter/verge clearly eliminates the current risks such as water penetration and thermal deferential (EWI performance gaps) at crucial property junctions and overcomes the excessive need and reliance currently on silicone (EWI Constant Costs). When comparing this product to the industry standard verge trim there is no comparison, as the EWi PRO detail far outperforms current trims as well as looking the part. There is also the maintenance free aspect to the product something we have not encountered with any other EWI detailing products."~ Mr Glenn Kathrens - Carbis Homes Ltd - Managing Director
